Tigers lose substate semifinal with Storm Lake

SPENCER — On Monday, the Spencer boys soccer team hosted Storm Lake in the 3A-1 Second Round matchup with a chance to advance to the final. The Tornadoes jumped on the Tigers in the first half, taking a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the break.

Spencer would match Storm Lake in the second half, both adding two goals, but the deficit was too much for the boys, who lost 5-2. It’s the first loss for Spencer since the opening matchup with Bishop Heelan at the end of March.
