Donald "Don" Jon Wickenhagen, 66, of Hospers, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. Burial will be at Liberty Township Cemetery in rural Meriden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Donna Jean (Chaplin) Johnson, 82, of Waukee, formerly of Spencer, died peacefully with family at her bedside Monday, June 13, 2022. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines with family greeting friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Mary Hanlon Coats Carroll, 92, born Dec. 4, 1929, and passed April 22, 2022, born and raised in Cherokee, graduating University of Iowa in 1951. She moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and married Dr. Ronald Rex Coats in 1952 and raised four children. Ronald passed away 1994. She remarried Josiah Carroll 1998, and lived in Spencer, where Joe passed away in 2012. She moved back to Omaha in 2017 and lived Immanuel Village Independent Living until her death.

Peter Willard Cary Dethlefsen, 74, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born Oct. 3, 1947, in Spencer, died Monday, May 23, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville.

Peter was a member of Greenmount Road Church of Christ, Belleville, Illinois, and enjoyed leading Bible studies at the church and at Auffenberg Ford. He loved cooking, going out to eat, and gardening. Peter’s tomatoes were the best. Peter was a United States Army veteran and served with the 18th Combat Engineer Brigade.
