Dennis Pike, beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 24, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1517 Northwestern Ave., in Ames.

Memorial services for Bessie Madsen, 92, of Spencer, will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Dickens Cemetery in Dickens, prior to the service. Madsen passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2024, in Chillicothe, Ohio. Warner Funeral Home, in Everly, was in charge of arrangements.

Private family services will be conducted at a late date for Charles “Chuck” Michael Pohar, 89, of Arnolds Park, formerly of: Spencer. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Pohar passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake.

Chuck, the son of Charles and Jennie Pohar, was born on Jan. 17, 1935, in LaSalle, Illinois. He passed away at Lakes Regional Medical Center on Oct. 26, 2024.

Funeral service for Marjorie Kay “Marge” Brehmer, 81, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel of Hartley. Dr. Lynn Dau will officiate the service. Final resting place will be Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.

Marge, the daughter of George and Florence (Leonard) Gathman, was born April 16, 1943, in Hartley. She spent her childhood in Hartley, where she attended Hartley High School.

Bessie “Bess” Elizabeth Madsen, daughter of Earl A. Ashcraft and Gladys P. Cooper Ashcraft was born April 27, 1932, in Modale. Her childhood years were spent in Modale, Salix and Sioux City. She received her education in Sioux City.

Funeral services for Harold “Buddy” Yungbluth, 80, of Royal, will by held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at Bethlehem Lutheran Charge in Royal. Pastor Mark Wilms will officiate the service. Visitation will be Monday at the church 5-7 p.m., with family present. Interment will be at Willow Cerek in Royal. Buddy passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at Spencer Hospital. Graveside services for Kenneth Eugene Wright will be conducted for 10 a.m, Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at the Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, Iowa.

Kenneth, the son of Peter and Hazel (Davis) Wright, was born on May 9, 1948, in Manchester. He received his early education in Manchester and attended West Delaware High School where he graduated. After high school he entered into the military on Dec. 29, 1966, serving in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 16, 1969.

Memorial services for Jody Rinken, 63, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date.

Rinken was born on Sunday, Feb. 5, 1961, in Iowa City, and died on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at her residence.

Delmar Roy Brockshus, 85, of Spencer, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at his home. Delmar Roy Brockshus was born on June 13, 1939 in Hartley to parents Louis A. Brockshus and Lilly G. (Lange) Brockshus. Del grew up at May City and attended country schools there until the seventh grade. He then attended school in Hartley graduating in 1957.

Funeral services for Mary Alice (Blum) Baedke, 85 of Savage, Minnesota, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday evening at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Terril. She passed away Oct. 12, 2024, at her residence.

Darwin Jay Winkowitsch was born in Rock Rapids on June 2, 1953. He was the son of Kenneth and Kathryn (Cassens) Winkowitsch. Darwin was the oldest of five siblings including Dawn, Janice, Mary, and Daniel. The family lived at George, Iowa; Eagle Grove, Minnesota; Allendorf, Iowa; and Round Lake, Minnesota, before moving to Sibley in 1967. Darwin graduated from Sibley High School in 1971.

Richard Charles Marker, 79, of Maynard, Minnesota, died Sept. 29, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

He loved God, family, country and life.

Sandyann Twetten (née Story) passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Oct. 5, 2024, after a brief, valiant struggle with heart disease.
