Bennie "Ben" Lew Hollesen Sr., 76, of Spencer, and formerly of Sioux Rapids, died Jan. 7, 2025 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Sioux Rapids.

Memorial services for Roger Kay Clark, 84, of Greenville, will take place at 2 p.n., Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Royal. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 p.m., until the time of the service, at church. Burial will be at Willow Creek Cemetery in Royal. He passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at Spencer Hospital in Spencer.

Steven “Steve” Baumgarn, 77, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, formerly of Royal, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at the Solstice Senior Living in Las Cruces.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later date in Las Cruces and in Winterset. Burial will be held in the Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.

Mildred Clark Stengel, 100, passed away peacefully on Dec. 23, 2024, at Cottage Care Circle in Mauston, Wisconsin. Born on April 17, 1924, in Spencer, Millie graduated from Spencer High School in 1941 and spent a year working in Washington, D.C., at the Pentagon.

Glenda Kay (Morfitt) Durst, beloved daughter of Millard and Gladys (Schroder) Morfitt, was born on May 11, 1936, on a farm near Sanborn. She graduated from Archer High School in 1954 and pursued her passion for teaching at Iowa State Teachers College. Glenda began her teaching career in the elementary schools of Emmetsburg, Arnold’s Park and Milford.

Funeral services for Beverly Hazel Wigen Harris, 91, of Spencer, will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. She passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley surrounded by her children. There will be a reception at Weasy’s Bar and Grille, following the graveside service.

Funeral services for Marvin Leon Erickson, 94, of Spencer, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at Warner Chapel in Everly. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mark Ellens will officiate the services. Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer. Erickson passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at Spencer Post Acute Rehabilitation Center in Spencer.

Services for Douglas Dean Dykstra will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.

Jeffery Wayne Brownmiller, 70, of Coolidge, passed away on Dec. 7, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on March 4, 1954, to parents Harland Brownmiller and Barbara Jones in Cherokee.
