Estelle Joan (Busch) Leinen was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1922, the daughter of Lt. Frank and Mary Alice (Glavin) Busch in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Providence High School with the class of 1940. She enlisted into the United States Navy Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) on Sept.

Eleanor Jean Wendlandt, of Spencer and Sun City, Arizona, died Feb. 16, 2020, at Orchard Pointe at Arrowhead in Glendale, Arizona. A memorial celebration of life, shall be held at the First Congregational Church in Spencer Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11 a.m., The Rev. Deb Mechler, officiating. The service will be followed by a luncheon. Burial is in the Newell cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

Arlo W. "Ozzie" Mugge, 96, of Spencer, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, at Longhouse Care Center in Spencer. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Zion United Church of Christ in Calumet. Burial of cremated remains will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Liberty Township Cemetery, in rural Calumet. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at the church.

Leslie Dale Drummond, 80, of Spencer, and The Villages, Florida, passed away on May 29, 2022.

Les was born to Eldon and Bernice Drummond on Oct. 29, 1941, in Lyons, Nebraska.

He married the love of his life, Susan, on Aug. 2, 1963, in Grand Island, Nebraska. Soon after, they moved to Spencer, Iowa where he was the owner of Spencer Dental Arts for 46 years.

In loving memory of our mother, Donnabell Louise Kinsley of Standish Michigan who passed away on May 30, 2022, after a two year struggle with dementia and most recently COVID. Donna was the devoted wife of 62 years of Irwin Kinsley who predeceased her in 2013 and the mother of Melodie Ann Kinsley who predeceased her in 2000. She was also the loving mother of Jenny (Ronald) Schwab, Charles Kinsley, Edward (Julie) Kinsley, Jane Schor and Bryan Kinsley.

Michael L. Taylor was born May 18, 1952 to Clarence "Bud" and Lorraine (Pannell) Taylor in Spencer. He received his early education at Lake Center Schools before the family moved to Spirit Lake where he graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1970. He lived in Spencer and Milford for most of his life.

Tami Marie (Ransom) Rempe, 51, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away Dec. 18, 2021. A celebration of life (no service) will be held for Tami at the Methodist Church in Webb on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at Garfield Cemetery near Webb. 

Graveside services for Timothy James Clifford, 75, of Prescott, Arizona, formerly of Spencer, will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

Jack Edwards Harms, 91, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022.

Jack was born July 6, 1930, to Edward and Dorothy (Edwards) Harms. He graduated from Shell Rock High School in 1947, then attended Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa). He completed his college education at the University of South Dakota and IH Business Management School, in Chicago, Illinois. He married Barbara Ann Burger in Everly on April 12, 1950.
