David Maranell

Funeral services for David Richard Maranell, 71, of Everly, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Deacon Darwin Messerly will officiate the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvery Cemetery in Milford. He passed away at Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

David, the son of Richard and Darlene (Coffman) Maranell was born Aug. 25, 1953, in Spirit Lake. His childhood years were spent in the Lakes area, where he attended school and graduated from Arnolds Park High School in 1971.

David married Bonnie Halstead on Nov. 8, 2013, in Spencer. He worked for Spencer Pack, Nolin Milling and the Everly Street Department. He was an avid Green Bay Packers, Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, coaching Little League, spending time with his dogs, and especially collecting items from auctions and yard sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Bonnie, in 2022.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Donald (Mary) Maranell, of Stonington, Connecticut; Denise (Lonnie) Loring, of Spencer; and Debra Maranell, of Ankeny; daughter, Miranda Tisher of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
