What does everyone need no matter what marital status they are? Freedom, folks. Freedom to do what you like when you desire. As a single person, it's satisfying to make your own choices without checking with a spouse or significant other. However, the responsibility is greater as you don't have the second income to help you. The benefit is that you are taking care of yourself only.
Major decisions rest on your shoulders. Do you buy that much needed washer and dryer, save up for it or go to the laundromat ? Or where do you cut your budget to pay for that new furnace? The car is making that funny noise again. And that nice piece of clothing you'd like to get for yourself ? Well, that just has to wait, again. When married, you have help from your spouse and, thus, some obstacles are easier to endure.
Singles and married people all need "space"; a therapeutic time for yourself. Space is, naturally, easier to enjoy when unmarried. Though married couples spend time pleasing each other, singles have more time to touch other people's lives and situations positively. Or they can exercise their God-given gifts in their own way.
If you have strong, Christian faith, you can ask the Lord to help you with a decision and He will come through for you. When you have turmoil in your life, you can turn to the Lord and He can give you that peace only He can supply. While there may be certain benefits both to being married or single, all in all, there's nothing like the taste of freedom singles can enjoy.
