Letter to the Editor

I am writing in response to the CommStock Report letters on Tuesday, Oct. 13. I do agree with both authors that Mr. Kruse should show more respect in his writings when speaking of the president of the United States. Love him or hate him, President Trump is our president. Where I differ with both is how they both call out Mr. Kruse for the name calling, but I have failed to see either author ever call out President Trump for his four plus years of doing the exact same thing. Everyone that disagrees with President Trump is subject to a new “nickname” from our president. It does not matter if you are a member of his own party or the other. If you publicly disagree or fail to show full support for the president, every speech and every Tweet from him result in name-calling and insults.
I guess the point I am attempting to make is we are all due a level of respect. I also believe if you are going to call out an opinion writer, maybe it would be a good time to include the man at the top that has seemed to make disrespectful comments a big part of his daily life. If the president is living by the golden rule, we can’t be surprised when someone else stoops to his level of vitriol, can we?
