Area service clubs and local volunteers served 425 area residents who turned out to support area firefighters Sunday at the Clay County Fair and Events Center. The event alone raised $6,124 to support the development of the Northwest Iowa Public Safety Training Center with efforts ongoing. Plans are set for the facility to be located on the east side of Spencer and to offer education and training to county firefighters.
