Mother Nature smiled on the fifth annual Soiree En Blanc, held Friday night. Hosted by the Clay County Heritage Center, the pop-up dinner in white is always held in a public location, with attendees being informed of the location via text a half-hour before the dinner begins. Bringing their own table decor, serving dishes and food, the white-clad attendees added a touch of formality and fun to the Grand Avenue scene by the fountain located between the Spencer Police Department and State Bank. An added touch on Friday was an appearance by a pair of white Percherons, Jack and Willy, owned by Dr. Brian and Debra Dvorak. The Dvoraks gave wagon rides behind the pair to attendees following dinner.
