Trump: America’s Biggest Foe is the E.U.
Shortly after dissing NATO, the U.K. prime minister, and the Canadian prime minister and days before his summit with Vladimir Putin, during an appearance on CBS “Face The Nation” President Trump was asked who he considered America’s biggest foe and competitor. Surprisingly, he named the European Union, saying: “Well I think we have a lot of foes. I think the European Union is a foe for what they do to us in trade.” He followed this by saying: “Russia is a foe — IN CERTAIN RESPECTS.” Is there anyone else in America who doubts that Russia is a bigger foe than the E.U. in ALL RESPECTS?”
AT the summit in Helsinki, he gave faint praise to the U.S. intelligence community findings that found, without a doubt, Russia meddled in our election. He then went on to say that he believed Putin when he said they didn’t do it. Further, the details of what he and Putin agreed to during the summit have been withheld from the American public, and from his own cabinet.
This behavior has caused congress on both sides of the aisle to question Trump’s motives. Robert Mueller’s investigation draws ever closer to finding out just what did happen on charges of collusion and obstruction of justice. Hopefully we will all find out soon.
