A couple of weeks ago Editor Randy Cauthron had an article on immigration covering it as a conservative in support of President Donald Trump's policy, and the next day Publisher Paula Buenger articulated the other side that opposes everything the present administration proposes. In fact, the ONLY area of agreement between the two sides — It's a HUGE problem!
Twelve million? 15 million? 20 million? This is the number of illegal immigrants living here in the United States of America, some for 30-plus years! What do we do? Grant them ALL amnesty and say viola, you're now a citizen? Is that fair to those standing in line legally for their citizenship? Some waiting 10-20 years?
But, as the devil's advocate, is it feasible, from a humanitarian viewpoint, to uproot families and send them back to Mexico? (I know there are illegals from other countries, but 90-plus percent are Mexican) Are we ogres? In fact, it is probably physically impossible to return all illegals to their country of origin.
What's the solution? I certainly don't know, but I do know one thing for certain. Before fixing this we need to stop the infiltration of illegals! Enforce the laws on the books and "BUILD THE **** WALL!"
