‘I Ought to Be in Pictures’ begins run at OST June 26
OKOBOJI — The Okoboji Summer Theatre will present its third production of the summer, “I Ought to Be in Pictures” by Neil Simon beginning Tuesday, June 26, and continuing through Sunday, July 1.
Herb Tucker, a Hollywood playwright, is surprised when his past reappears in the form of Libby, his teenage daughter who has trekked from Brooklyn with dreams of movie stardom. There are plenty of laughs and tender moments as we watch him take another stab at fatherhood and hopefully, this time, get it right.
Directed by OST’s new Artistic Director Stephen Brotebeck, the cast features award winning film and television actor and OST favorite, Jay Huguley along with two talented students from Stephens College.
Curtain times are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with a 4:30 p.m. Saturday matinee and a 6 p.m. Sunday performance. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the OST box office by calling 712-332-7773, or by email at email@example.com.
Stephens College student Sicily Mathenia and OST favorite Tom Andes perform a set before the Friday show. OST also offers free babysitting during the Friday night show. Call the box office to reserve a spot.
Two students 13-and-above, including college students, will be admitted for the regular price of one on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Two senior citizens, age 60-or-older, will be admitted for the price of one on Saturday matinees and Sunday evenings. All Saturday evening performances are available at the two-for-one ticket price for all ages. All active and reserve military may purchase two-for-one tickets for any 8 p.m. performance.
