County Pork Producers award 3 scholarships

The Clay County Pork Producers recently awarded three area high school seniors scholarships. These scholarships are awarded at the beginning of their second semester of college. The scholarship winners are:

Claire Christensen, from rural Royal, daughter of Tim and Susan Christensen. She is a graduate of Spencer High School and will be attending Iowa State University this fall. She plans to double major in agricultural education and animal science with a minor in animal nutrition.


Rachel Findling, the daughter of Jennifer Findling, of Royal. She is a graduate of Clay Central-Everly High School and plans to attend Iowa State University where she will major in agricultural education/agricultural communications.


Trey Herrig, son of Todd and Tanya Herrig of Peterson. The Sioux Central High School graduate plans to attend Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon to become an electrical engineer. He also served as Clay County Pork Producer youth ambassador this year.
