The governor's office is taking applications for persons to serve on boards and commissions.
These groups are responsible for advising the governor and lieutenant governor, the Legislature and state agencies.
There are more than 180 appointed positions to boards and commissions in our state. Appointments are made to most boards and commissions annually. All applications are kept on file as public information. Check out https://openup.iowa.gov/openboard for current vacancies.
State law requires most boards and commissions be balanced according to gender and political affiliation. Geographical location and diversity are also considered.
If you are interested, please look at what boards and commissions the governor will make appointments to in June, or view the complete list of boards and commissions. If you find a position you are interested in, sign up and fill out an online application for consideration by the governor and lieutenant governor.
