Breakout time for LakeFest headliner
Hailed as “the newest rising star in country music” by celebmix.com, 2018 Storm Lake LakeFest headliner Jimmie Allen is back on the charts with a brand new single this week, “21.”
“This song paints a picture of my hometown and every time I sing it I’m flooded with great memories from that time in my life,” Allen says of his latest effort. The track comes from the young singer’s upcoming record “Slower Lower Sessions” which is due for release later this year as the follow up to his self-titled EP release which dropped back in October.
After struggling to survive as a Nashville newcomer, Allen reached stardom status with a breakout single “Best Shot,” which became one of the best performing radio tracks of 2017.
Allen also made his Grand Ole Opry debut Friday.
LakeFest, the annual country music festival on the Great Lawn at Storm Lake, is set for Saturday, June 23, 7 p.m. Allen will be joined by the country crossover band Levon, with an opening act still to be announced.
Tickets are on sale at King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort, or online at ticket web.com at $25, $50 for VIP.
