CONTINUING EDUCATION

Sioux Cityís Briar Cliff University has signed an articulation agreement with Iowa Lakes Community College allowing students who have completed the associate degree nursing program to conveniently complete their bachelorís degree through Briar Cliff University. Students earn their bachelorís degree in two years or less through an online program. Students can transfer up to 90 credit hours from Iowa Lakes Community College toward a B.S. degree in nursing at Briar Cliff University. OPEN ENROLLMENT

Parents or guardians considering the use of the open enrollment option to enroll their child or children to another public school district in the state of Iowa should be aware of the following dates: March 1 ó Last day for regular open enrollment requests for the 2018-19 school year. Sept. 1 ó Last date for kindergarten students for the 2018-19 school year. Open enrollment application forms are available at the Spencer Community Schools District Office, 23, E. Seventh St. Call the superintendentís office at 262-8950 with questions.


SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The Clay County Soil & Water Conservation District is offering two scholarship opportunities for Clay County students. The CDI Scholarship is available for high school seniors who will be majoring in conservation or a natural resource related field. This application can be downloaded at www.cdiowa.org, obtained at the Clay SWCD office or from the school guidance counselor. The scholarship deadline is Friday, Feb. 16, and must be submitted to the Clay County SWCD office.

The Clay County Soil & Water Conservation District Scholarship is available for college sophomores or above majoring in a conservation related field. The student must have residency in Clay County. This scholarship is available at the Clay County SWCD upon request, deadline of June 1. Applicants must submit their scholarship applications to the Clay County SWCD Office at 306 11th St. SW Plaza in Spencer. The scholarships awarded will be $250 or higher and will be paid directly to the recipient. If you have any questions, call 712-262-3432.
