No injuries result from semi, Durango accident

No injuries were reported following a semitanker and Dodge Durango collision at the North Y intersection shortly after 8:30 a.m. Friday, blocking traffic in the southbound lanes for a period of time.

Joni Ruth Breuer, 33, of Milford, was southbound in the east lane of U.S. Highway 71 in the 2015 Durango. A 2015 Mack semitruck with a tanker, being driven by Rollyn Leroy Moe, 66, of Lake Mills, was westbound on 44th Street — waiting on a stop sign waiting to travel through the southbound lanes of Highway Blvd. Moe continued across the southbound lanes, and according to the accident report, did not see the Durango and failed to yield the right of way. The Durango’s front bumper collided with the passenger side of the trailer.

The 2015 Durango was totaled with more than $10,000 in estimated damages; and the semitruck — owned by CH Wilson Transport Inc., out of Charles City, sustained approximately $3,500 in damage to the entire front end of the trailer and rear end of the semitruck.

Spencer Ambulance responded to assess drivers at the accident.

Spencer Police were responsible for the accident scene. Other agencies assisted at the scene.
