Spencer man faces felony drug charge following alleged eluding incident

A Spencer man was charged with felony methamphetamine charges Wednesday evening after allegedly attempting to elude police attempting to conduct a traffic stop. Cory Woodrow, 33, of Spencer, was taken into custody on multiple charges following the incident and transported to the Clay County Jail where he was held on a $5,000 bond.

At 10:34 p.m., a Spencer Police officer attempted to execute the traffic stop for registration violation in the 600 block of West 18th Street. When the office activated his emergency lights and sirens, the vehicle Woodrow was operating failed to stop. Police continued to follow the vehicle until it come to a stop in the 1500 block of 12th Avenue West.

Charges filed against Woodrow include felony possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, third offense; and eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, no registration and driving while license suspended all misdemeanors.
