Storm Lake controlled the play for the majority of Monday nightís contest with the Tigers in Spencer, and it showed on the scoreboard as the No. 3-ranked Tornadoes left town with a 5-0 triumph.

Spencer held off the Storm Lake offense for the first 20 minutes of play, but a laser shot from the right side of the box to the opposite corner of the net put the visitors up 1-0.

Storm Lake doubled their lead with 7:26 remaining in the half before tacking on a third goal with 1:55 left before the break.

Spencerís defense stiffened back up for much of the second half, but the Tornado pressure eventually created some cracks as Storm Lake scored with 16:47 to go and added a punctuation mark with a bicycle kick goal for a 5-0 lead with 10:53 remaining.

The loss drops Spencer to 8-6 on the season and 3-3 in Lakes Conference play. The Tigers continue league play Tuesday in Orange City against MOC-Floyd Valley. Itíll be the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
