Rebel girls pummel Wolverines
WEST BEND — Led by 25 points from Dani Boettcher and 16 from Shera Smith, Sioux Central's girls picked up their third win of the season Friday night, cruising past West Bend-Mallard 55-33.
The Rebels opened up a 13-8 advantage by the end of the first, but a 24-2 run throughout the second stanza blew the game open for a 37-10 lead at halftime.
WB-M responded in the third, outscoring Sioux Central 18-5, but the Rebels still held a 42-28 lead going into the fourth.
A 13-5 frame in favor of the Rebels solidified the 55-33 victory for the scarlet and gray.
Sioux Central's offense got plenty of help from its defense, picking up 12 steals to score plenty of buckets in transition.
The Rebels moved to 3-9 on the season with the triumph and looked to get another win Monday night on the road against Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayshire.
