Man faces multiple charges after assaulting women, fighting police
STORM LAKE -- A Storm Lake man was arrested after fighting with his ex-wife and another woman, damaging a home, and struggling with officers.
Police were summoned to a home in the 700 block of Grand Avenue Sunday night on a 911 emergency call.
Ketzell Zeledon, 24, of Storm Lake, was visiting the home of his ex-wife at which time he allegedly became upset over a dispute about their children and began throwing items and threatening his ex-wife. He further physically assaulted another woman at the home and broke out the glass on a patio door near where several small children were playing.
Police arrested Zeledon at the scene. They allege he fought with officers and had to be taken to the ground and subdued. Zeledon was transported by police to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries sustained while fighting with police. He was treated and released and then transferred by the SLPD to the Buena Vista County Jail, where police allege he assaulted a police officer and had to be subdued a second time.
The two female victims sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention. None of the children were injured. A Storm Lake officer sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.
The SLPD charged Zeledon with five counts of assault, interference with official acts causing bodily injury, assault on a peace officer, domestic assault second offense, public intoxication second offense and disorderly conduct. He was held in the Buena Vista County Jail without bond.
A report was filed with the Iowa Department of Human Services.
