ESTHERVILLE -- The Iowa Lakes volleyball team was in action Wednesday as they hosted conference rival Iowa Central. The Lakers defeated the Tritons in four sets by scores of 25-21, 11-25, 25-19 and 25-20.

Martindale had 16 digs, three blocks and one ace to go along with her kills while Jensen added 15 digs and one ace on the night. Kendall Moorehead chipped in offensively with seven kills while picking up nine digs and Megan Remund added six kills and four blocks. Steph Baker led the defense picking up 28 digs and dropped in two aces.
"This was a really quality win for the ladies tonight. Iowa Central is a great team that has been on a roll lately, and to see my ladies come out and compete like they did makes me really proud. The difference maker for us tonight was our consistency. Minus the second set, the ladies did not get too high or too low at any given point. They focused on what they needed to do next, didn't make many mental errors and played point for point. Things finally started to click for us tonight. We have a big weekend ahead of us and another big conference match against DMACC next week, so hopefully we can stay on track and finish the season strong," Laker volleyball coach Megan Bezdicek said.
The Lakers improved their record to 27-9 on the season and 5-2 in the ICCAC. Iowa Lakes will have four matches this weekend as the travel to Fort Dodge to take part in the Iowa Central Invite.
