CCREC hosts area firefighter training

Saturday, February 14, 2015
The fourth annual Clay County Rescue Skills Weekend was recently conducted at the Clay County Regional Events Center. Firefighters from around the area gathered to enhance their skills in rescue operations. Skills were challenged by everything from industrial machine rescue, to farm equipment rescue and patient care. (Left) Hartley firefighters work on a grain auger entrapment station. (Right) Firefighters work to remove a hand from a makeshift meat grinder. Other subjects covered included hazardous materials and traffic incident management. Professional Rescue Innovations from West Des Moines lead the training in each of these technical rescue classes. The Andersons, Spencer Red Power, Noteboom Implement and CF Industries provided support and helped make the rescue skills weekend a success. (Photos submitted)
