Music, dancing at the library

Chad Elliott performed a concert at the Spencer Public Library Wednesday evening as part of his library book tour to promote his recently released children's book. Elliott wrote and illustrated "Wilderman's Treetop Tales," which is full of silly poems and songs for children. He also recorded the CD that accompanies the book. (Photos by Hanna Russmann)

The library concert was composed of many of the songs found in "Wilderman's Treetop Tales" including "Dandy Lion" and "Tree House." Elliott also performed some old favorites for the adults in the crowd.
Approximately 80 people came out to listen to Elliott at the Spencer Public Library, a number of them were children who couldn't help but dance to the music. Many of Elliott's songs required audience participation to either make up the song as he sang or to sing along.
