LAST YEAR

The Mavericks haven't taken on the Chargers since the 11-man days. L-M went 3-6 last year with wins over Remsen St. Mary's, CAL-Latimer and Corwith-Wesley-Luverne while CC-E was 1-8 with their win coming over Whiting.

LAST WEEK

The Mavericks hosted a playoff-bound Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire team that pounced all over them, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter in a 62-12 route. The Chargers traveled to Remsen for a showdown with Remsen-Union who entered that game with a record of 0-6. L-M lost against Union 50-22.

OVERVIEW

Both teams have likely had each other circled on their schedules from the beginning of the season. It's a difficult district with GT/RA, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn and West Bend-Mallard all hovering around the state's top-10 rankings with three losses combined while CC-E, L-M and R-U have combined for one win. Harris-Lake Park at 4-3 and Remsen St. Mary's 4-2 are battling it out for the fourth playoff spot, leaving the Mavericks and Chargers to scrap for a moral victory late in the season. That's a victory both of these teams want badly. The numbers don't provide much of any gap, making this game a bit of a coin flip.
