Funeral services for Norman Johnson, 72, of Milford, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Paul Kaldahl will officiate the service.

Visitation will be conducted beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at Warner Funeral Home, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

A private family burial will be conducted at a later date.

Johnson passed away Monday, Nov. 4, at Spencer Hospital in Spencer.

Norman Clarence Johnson, the son of Clarence and Edith Rankin Johnson, was born Oct. 14, 1941 in Slayton, Minn. His childhood years were spent in the Slayton area. He attended school in Tracy, Minn.

Norman married Joyce Holl on April 20, 1963 in Curry, Minn. They moved to Milford, Iowa in 1976 where they continued farming. Norman's greatest joy was farming. He also enjoyed gardening, planting trees, listening to country music, tractors, helping neighbors, traveling and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law Allen "Butch" Miller.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce of Milford; three sons, Curt (Shelly) Johnson of Spencer, Terry (Sally) Johnson of Walland, Tenn., and Jeff Johnson of Terril; five grandchildren, Alex (Mackenzie) Johnson, Austin Johnson, and Adam Johnson, all of Spencer, Corey Johnson of Spirit Lake, and Shayla Johnson of Milford, one brother Eleen Johnson of Slayton, Minn.; three sisters, Marie (David) Bauer of Garvin, Minn., Jeanette Miller of Lake Wilson, Minn., and Jean (Raymond) Reinholdt of Ruthton, Minn.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
