Dear Editor,

Thank you, Randy, for your article about the safe return of your brother-in-law, Brent Juelfs. Congratulations to him! The article brought back memories for me of when our son returned from his first tour of duty in Iraq. Brent and Ben served there at the same time. I remember because the Sacred Heart students sent Christmas cards to them. You are so right in saying how powerful the feelings are when you see the soldiers return from a tour of duty. I will never forget the feelings of joy and gratitude when the commander at Fort Hood said, "Soldiers, go find your families," and I tear up still today thinking of how grateful I was that our son had returned safely. You and I are lucky, Randy, in that our loved ones came home. Many of our soldiers do not return. Many come home broken. We all have busy lives and are so involved in ourselves that it is easy to forget that soldiers are making huge sacrifices, and many never give it a thought. So, I would like to ask your readers to take a moment today and think of these courageous people and maybe say a prayer for them that they may return safely to their families who miss them so much. Thank you.

Shirley Selzer
