The girls/boys double header scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27 with Clay Central-Everly at Sioux Central was cancelled due to road and fog conditions. This was the second time rescheduling this game, so it has been cancelled.

Ehlers drops 20 in Friday's win

Sioux Central needed an extra period to complete its comeback, but the Lady Rebels got the job done in a 64-57 win in overtime over East Sac County in Sioux Rapids.

Hallie Ehlers scored a game-high 20 points and led the Rebels from eight points down to start the fourth quarter. The score was knotted at 54-54 at the end of regulation before Sioux Central outscored East Sac 10-3 in the overtime period.

Taylor Fahnlander and Nicole Hamilton added 13 and 12 points, respectively, while Bailey McGuire scored eight points and led the team with four steals. Fahnlander hit three 3-pointers as Sioux Central was 7-of-15 from distance for the game.

East Sac (11-7) got 14 points from Shae Blum and Kaitlin Bass, and Dakota Blum added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Sioux Central improves to 11-6 on the season and will host St. Mary's, Storm Lake tonight (Tuesday).


East Sac County held the Rebels to their third-lowest scoring output of the season in a 60-26 rout in Sioux Rapids Friday night. Austin Glawe hit 8-of-18 field goals and finished with 19 of the 26 points. The rest of the Rebels were 2-of-22 from the field. Glawe also grabbed 12 rebounds.

"It was just a rough shooting night, which led to us forcing some action and allowed East Sac some transition buckets," Sioux Central coach Stephen Tjaden said.

Reed Tellinghuisen scored 28 points, including six 3-pointers, and 10 rebounds to lead East Sac (12-5). Sioux Central (4-12) has lost five in a row and will host No. 2 St. Mary's, Storm Lake tonight (Tuesday).
