Glawe scores 1,000th point, Rebels drop two

Sioux Central senior Austin Glawe scored the 1,000th point of his career in Monday's 58-45 loss at South O'Brien. Glawe scored 31 points with 13 rebounds and three blocks in the loss. Tuesday night, Jan. 22, the Rebels lost their fourth in a row with a 54-42 loss at Alta-Aurelia. Sioux Central was outscored by 10 in the second half. Glawe led with 19 points and 11 rebounds while Dallas Heuton added 13 points. The Rebels are 4-11 on the season. Glawe is averaging 21.4 points per game and has scored 45.8 percent of his team's points this year.

Lady Rebels win 10th at Alta-Aurelia

Three Lady Rebels scored in double figures as Sioux Central improved to 10-6 on the season with a 53-27 win over Alta-Aurelia on the road Tuesday night, Jan. 22. Hallie Ehlers led with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Nicole Hamilton scored 11 and Bailey McGuire added 10. Sioux Central totaled 17 steals and didn't allow more than nine points in any quarter. They host East Sac County (11-6) Friday night in Sioux Rapids.

CC-E loses a pair to North Union

Clay Central-Everly's girls snapped a six-game winning streak with a loss at North Union (11-5) in Armstrong Tuesday night, 39-26. CC-E couldn't get any offense going as they failed to score over nine points in any quarter and were limited to 13 in each half. The Lady Mavs fall to 12-3 on the season. The CC-E boys fell to 0-13 with a 51-40 loss to North Union in the closest contest the Mavs had played this season.
