Charging Rebels compete at HMS Duals

The Laurens-Marathon/Sioux Central wrestling team went 1-4 on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the H-M-S team tournament including Alta-Aurelia, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, West Monona and Western Christian.

The Charging Rebels beat Alta-Aurelia, 37-24, with the help of numerous forfeits and pins from Drew Bindor and Chase Wells. Alta had beaten them Jan. 17. LM/SC lost to BHRV, 77-6, and scored only on a forfeit.

The Rebels lost a pair of close duals to West Monona, 42-36, and Western Christian, 42-39. Jake Simpson at 152 pounds and Cameron Graff at 195 were the non-forfeit wins against Western, while Bindor, Wyatt Shannon and Riley DaSilva scored pins against West Monona.

Graff and Bindor recorded pins in a 52-30 loss to HMS, who won all six matches between 132 pounds and 170 pounds. Bindor went 3-2 on the day at 182 pounds with three pins.

Sioux Central/L-M will wrestle in Wall Lake tonight (Tuesday) versus East Sac County and South Central Calhoun.
