A 17-year-old juvenile female from Everly was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at Clay Central-Everly School and charged with assault.

Michael Matthews, 23, of Estherville, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Clay County Jail and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to stop in a safe and assured distance.

Michael Wayne Lindgren, 38, of Peterson, was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 19 at Oak Street and Fourth Street in Peterson, and charged with driving under suspension and possession of a controlled substance.

Israel Cervantes-Barcelata, 22, of Spencer, was arrested at 4:53 p.m. Jan. 16 at U.S. Highway 71 and 370th Street, and charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to file SR-22 insurance.


A burglary at Peterson City Hall was reported to the Clay County Sheriff's Office on Jan. 15. An investigation by the deputies determined that sometime between Jan. 10 and Jan. 15, entry was gained into the city hall building by kicking out a glass panel in a side door and unlocking the door. Once inside subjects removed $40 in cash.
