Lady Rebels fall to South Central Calhoun

The Sioux Central girls struggled offensively in a 37-31 loss on the road to South Central Calhoun in Rockwell City Friday night. The Rebels led by one at halftime, 22-21, but managed just nine points in the second half, including three in the fourth quarter.

The loss drops the Lady Rebels to 9-6 this season while South Central Calhoun improves to 14-2 on the season. The Titans have won six in a row and nine of their last 10 games.

Taylor Fahnlander led Sioux Central with 10 points, including two 3-pointers, and Nicole Hamilton added nine points on 4-of-7 shooting. Sioux Central was 12-of-26 from the field for the game and grabbed 14 rebounds as a team in the loss.

Bailey McGuire had four assists and Hallie Ehlers made four steals.

The Rebels will play at Alta-Aurelia on Tuesday night. Sioux Central beat Alta-Aurelia, 38-34, earlier this season on Dec. 4.

Note: The Sioux Central boys also lost to South Central Calhoun Friday night, 58-43. Statistics weren't available at press time.
