Glawe's 42 lifts Rebels

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Austin Glawe put up a monstrous game Friday night in a 65-48 win over Southeast Webster-Grand. The senior forward scored a career-high 42 points (15-of-22 shooting) and grabbed 14 rebounds with five steals to lead the way.

Sioux Central began to pull away in the second quarter and led, 35-26, at halftime. They outscored the Eagles 16-8 in the fourth.

"We came out flat and Southeast Webster took advantage and competed with us for four quarters," Sioux Central head coach Stephen Tjaden said. "We just need to make some mental adjustments now as we enter the second time through the conference."

After starting the season 1-6, the Rebels have won three of four and are currently 4-7 overall. They travel to Laurens to face the Chargers tonight (Tuesday). They beat Laurens-Marathon 56-53 on Nov. 30.

Glawe is currently sixth in Class 2A in scoring (21.0 ppg) and third in rebounding (12.5).
