Camping opportunities open up for attendees

RISE Ministries, the organization behind RiseFest, announce two additions to RiseFest 2013's lineup: award-winning artists Mandisa and Sidewalk Prophets.

Mandisa
Mandisa is a three-time Grammy nominee and American Idol 2006 finalist. Her song, "Stronger," off her 2011 album "What If We Were Real," peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart in June of 2011, while the second single off that album, "Waiting For Tomorrow" peaked at No. 3. She has worked with other Christian music stars such as Kirk Franklin, TobyMac, and fellow RiseFest lineup artist, Matthew West.

After touring with the likes of Jeremy Camp and Audio Adrenaline, Sidewalk Prophets rode the popularity of their first World Records release, "These Simple Truths," to a Dove Award for Best New Artists and a nomination for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. Their singles, "You Love Me Anyway," and "The Words I Would Say," went No. 1 and 3, respectively, on the Billboard Christian Singles Chart.

Mandisa and Sidewalk Prophets will join artists Matthew West, MercyMe, and more on June 15 in Sheldon.

Also new to RiseFest 2013 is the addition of camping. Festival goers will have the opportunity to purchase camping sites on the festival grounds June 14 through June 16.

"We're really excited to announce that RiseFest is having camping this year at the festival! We will be opening up camp sites near the grounds on Friday and campers are invited to stay through Sunday morning." Rob Roozeboom, founder/president of RISE Ministries, said. "We'll also be adding a few activities for Friday night that we'll be talking about in the near future. What's so exciting about this is that you can now make RiseFest an entire Father's Day weekend event. If you're coming in from out of town, you won't have to rush out right after our headliner, MercyMe. You can stay and walk back to your camper and leave on Sunday morning. As the festival draws closer we'll have more information about RiseFest camping, but for now we want you to know so that you can plan accordingly."

More information on camping will be available in the upcoming weeks at www.riseministries.com
