Sheldon held the Spencer boys to its lowest-scoring game of the season as the Tigers continued a slide that's seen them lose three in a row and four out of the last five games. The No.7-ranked Orabs got 18 points from Matt Dykstra (8-of-10 shooting) as they improved to 11-1 on the season with a 53-40 victory Tuesday night at the Fieldhouse in Spencer.

The loss is Spencer's second non-conference setback of the week after falling to Rock Valley, 65-53, Monday night on the road. Tuesday night Spencer fell behind 10-2 to the Orabs and never led in the game.

After a 6-0 start, Spencer is now 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the conference. The Tigers will be able to get back in the win column Friday night in Lakes Conference action when they host Spirit Lake.

Spencer's Michael Gabhart tries to tie up Sheldon's James Gradert Tuesday night, Jan. 8 at the Field House in Spencer. Gradert would maintain control and the Orabs would beat the Tigers, 53-40.

"As tough as it's been to lose these last two games, the fact of the matter is they're non-league games," Spencer coach Kory Petzenhauser said. "I'm not concerned with the guys' attitude moving forward because I know it will be great. We'll be ready Friday night."

Sheldon's leading scorer, Dallas Ennema (20.1 ppg), was held to eight points on 3-of-8 shooting, but was able to create easy baskets for Dykstra under the basket and finished with six assists.

Spencer was led by Michael Gabhart with 11 points (5-of-10), who also grabbed five rebounds. Matthew Klemme notched another double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Klemme was limited to 4-of-14 shooting against Sheldon's length inside.

Spencer set season-lows for points in a game (40), half (19) and quarter (4) Tuesday night.
