Milford couple welcomes first baby of 2013
Natalia Marie, the daughter of Lynda Mitchell and Conrado Gomez of Milford, was the first baby of the new year at Lakes Regional Healthcare. Natalia was born at Lakes Regional Healthcare at 7:56 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, weighing seven pounds, 11 ounces and 18 1/2 inches in length. She will be welcomed home by brother Yandel and sister Victoria.
Upon learning she had the New Year's baby, Lynda said: "This is fantastic and a real blessing."
LRH and lakes area businesses donated gifts for the first baby born in the new year.
"This is always a fun tradition, and we really appreciate the many businesses that donate gifts," said LRH Obstetrics Supervisor Katie Furman.
Baby names of 2012
Parents of babies born at Lakes Regional Healthcare used originality when naming their newest members of the family in 2012.
The hospital saw three Alexanders in 2012. In a tie for the top spot, three Carsons (or Karsons) were welcomed to the world.
There were a pair of Blakes (one was spelled Blayke) and a pair of Dameons (or Damion).
There were no duplicate names for girls.
Some of the interesting names included: Aeslin, Bergen, Eden, Janik, Kio'alyn, Nevaeh, Phoenix, Talan and Ziggy.
Traditional names also were used including: Abigail, Andrew, Claire, Emily, Matthew, Prudence and William.
