Upon learning she had the New Year's baby, Lynda said: "This is fantastic and a real blessing."
LRH and lakes area businesses donated gifts for the first baby born in the new year.
"This is always a fun tradition, and we really appreciate the many businesses that donate gifts," said LRH Obstetrics Supervisor Katie Furman.
Parents of babies born at Lakes Regional Healthcare used originality when naming their newest members of the family in 2012.
The hospital saw three Alexanders in 2012. In a tie for the top spot, three Carsons (or Karsons) were welcomed to the world.
There were a pair of Blakes (one was spelled Blayke) and a pair of Dameons (or Damion).
There were no duplicate names for girls.
Some of the interesting names included: Aeslin, Bergen, Eden, Janik, Kio'alyn, Nevaeh, Phoenix, Talan and Ziggy.
Traditional names also were used including: Abigail, Andrew, Claire, Emily, Matthew, Prudence and William.
