Chaplain celebrated at retirement party

Chaplain Rev. Mike Sharp was honored at a retirement party hosted at St. Luke Lutheran Home.

Since his July 29, 2007, installation at the St. Luke care complex, Sharp has provided spiritual guidance for residents of the St. Luke Lutheran Home, The Highlands, Hillside Terrace Assisted Living and Riverview Terrace Assisted Living residences; hosted worship services; and engaged in Bible studies, devotions, grief support counseling and communion.

Originally from Flint, Mich., Sharp has also served in Logan; Wathena, Kansas; Canton, Kan.; and at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Spencer during his 30-year career in the ministry.

Sharp and his wife, Betty, reside in Spencer and have two children, Melissa and Marc.
