Mr. Jochims passed away Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville. Justin Victor Jochims, the son of Albert and Georgia (Woodley) Jochims, was born on April 14, 1940. His grandfather's name was Justin, so the family called him by his middle name, "Victor." He graduated from Spencer Community High School.
On June 30, 1962, Victor married Ruth J. Mosier in Spencer, Iowa. Two children were born to this union: Shelly and Kristi. Victor worked at Super Value Grocery Store in Spencer and later, at HyVee, for a total of over 40 years in the grocery business. Victor had numerous health problems throughout his life. When he was 13, he had the first open heart surgery in the state of Iowa. He would retire early due to his health. In 2011, Victor and Ruth moved to Centerville to be near to their daughter, Kristi. In June 2012, Victor entered the Centerville Nursing & Rehab. He loved to spend his time watching wrestling on TV or sitting and visiting with folks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Helen Barber; and his brother, Vernon Jochims.
