Spencer woman treated for head injury, broken scapula

Thursday, December 27, 2012

A Sunday accident at the intersection of Clay County Road M-50 and U.S. Highway 18 Sunday sent a Spencer woman to the Spencer Hospital Emergency Room with a head injury and broken scapula.

Lauri Myers, 46, of Spencer, was northbound on M-50, and entered Highway 18, into the path of Joshua Egesdal, 25, of Badger, traveling west on Highway 18.

Egesdal, operating a 2001 Ford F-150, was unable to avoid impact with Myers' 1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer. The collision set Egesdal's Ford into the north ditch and the Chevy S1 spun before coming to rest in the south ditch of Highway 18.

The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Spencer Police Department, Dickens Fire and Rescue, Spencer Fire and Rescue and Spencer Hospital.
