BOYS STRUGGLES CONTINUE
The Clay Central-Everly boys team dropped its third game of the season in a 44-21 loss to CWL Tuesday night. The Mavericks are averaging 20 points per game to start the season (0-3).
"We're struggling to find any consistency offensively," boys coach Doug Van Der Wilt said. "We weren't taking care of the ball and made careless passes. We had a very tough time on the defensive glass and when you're struggling to score, you can't allow them to get three or four chances."
CWL finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass by Jared Haler, who finished with 13 rebounds total. Josh Hilbert grabbed 14 rebounds, while Esden Carroll led with 13 points.
Chazz Brown paced CC-E with nine points and Jesup Muhlbauer added seven.
CC-E will host South O'Brien Saturday afternoon following the girls game in Everly.
