Deputy Sheriff Chris Raveling returned from Afghanistan on Nov. 8, after spending eight months in active duty as First Sergeant in charge of security for the 184ΤΗ Expeditionary Fighter Squadron. Thursday afternoon, he presented the Clay County Sheriff's department with a flag that had flown on the Tail No. 78-0583 of an A-10C Warthog during a combat mission. On Aug. 13, this flag was flown "in honor of the Clay County Sheriff's Office." Raveling has been a member of the sheriff's department since 2006, and "greatly appreciates the help he received from the sheriff's office" in filling his shifts and taking care of his family while he was overseas. "It's an honor and a privilege to have one of your own that's served in active duty, protecting our freedoms and supporting the United States' operation Enduring Freedom" Clay County Sheriff Randy Krukow said. "We're very glad to have him back with us."

What a great story! Clay County is blessed to have a great leader like Randy in the Sheriff's office!
