The Spencer girls basketball team won its first game of the season Tuesday night in Sioux Rapids with a 47-35 victory over Sioux Central.
Heather Williamson led all scorers with 14 points on 5-of-5 field goal shooting and seven rebounds. Kelsey Rolfes hit two 3-pointers and finished the game with nine points. Spencer is now 1-1 on the year and plays at Unity Christian in Orange City on Friday evening.
Sioux Central (2-3) was led in scoring by Taylor Fahnlander, who scored 11 points (4-of-11 FG) and pulled down five rebounds. Nicole Hamilton had five points, five rebounds and four steals in the loss.
Sioux Central senior Hallie Ehlers was injured in the first minute of the game and did not return.
Spencer led 25-20 at halftime and allowed just 15 points by the Rebels in the second half.
Sioux Central will host Laurens-Marathon in the Twin Lakes Conference opener on Friday.
