Black Friday came a little early this year, as in Thursday night, as some retailers got the jump on the holiday shopping rush by opening at 8 p.m. Thursday night with a load of holiday specials. Both Peebles (above) and Wal-Mart had large crowds waiting outside the doors Thursday evening, anticipating the good deal. Other retailers, like J.C. Penney, in the Southpark Mall (below), stuck with the traditional early Friday morning opening with specials designed to attract the early bird shoppers in search of the best shopping opportunities.
