The New York City-based BM4 -- the BurgstallerMartignon4 -- perform an exciting and inventive hybrid of classical and jazz that has simultaneously ignited the excitement of fans of both genres. Their concerts straddle jazz and classical, inventively and organically combining them while remaining sophisticated and accessible.
BM4's co-leaders are internationally renowned American trumpeter Joe Burgstaller (soloist, Peabody Institute; ex-Canadian Brass & Meridian Arts Ensemble; Juno nominated) and the Colombian-born pianist Hector Martignon (Grammy nominee for his own solo albums in 2009 and 2011; Tony and Oscar nominated; formerly with Ray Barretto, Tito Puente, Paul Simon, and Paquito D'Rivera).
This concert event, "Bach's Secret Files," include music by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Debussy, Satie, Fauré, Bolling, Corea, Piazzolla, and Ellington. It is billed as "Classical Music for Jazz Fans, Jazz Music for Classical Lovers."
Tickets are $25 at the door or $20 in advance. There is a 10 percent discount on advance ticket sales for members of Arts on Grand. Student tickets are available for $5 in advance or at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Arts on Grand at any time prior to the performance.
