Carolyn Lois Mett (Tootsie) was born to Fern and Lyla (Heikens) Mett on Jan. 21, 1930, on a farm in Clay County. She attended a little one-room school house in Summit township, and graduated from Spencer High School in 1947. After graduation, she worked at Bell Telephone Company. She attended Macalester College in Minneapolis, earning a teaching degree in education. She enjoyed teaching school in Iowa and California.

Carolyn loved art and earned a degree in interior design at Iowa State University. She resided in Gatlinburg, Tenn., Grand Rapids, Mich., Minneapolis, Minn., and Iowa, working as a designer. She was very creative, loved to paint, collect and refinish unique antique furniture, and was an excellent cook. In her retirement years, Carolyn received joy providing a loving home to unwanted little dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory include one sister, Mary Lou Larsen (Dale); nephews: Alan (Shirley), Mark (Robyn) and David (Kelli) Larsen; relatives and friends.

Carolyn's life can be celebrated through fond memories of those who dearly loved her. Honoring Carolyn's wishes, funeral services will not be held.
