Schoning approved into CC-E board

Friday, October 12, 2012

Matt Schoning was approved into the CC-E school board at Thursday night's meeting. Shoning has one fourth grade student at CC-E and one student in the special needs program at Spencer.
Matt Schoning was approved into the Clay Central-Everly school board at Thursday night's special meeting.

Schoning, of Everly, was asked to fill the position left by Tony Sievert, who submitted his letter of resignation prior to the meeting.

"I gave it some thought," Schoning said, "and I thought it would be a good opportunity and a good learning experience."

Schoning has one student in the fourth grade at CC-E, and one student in the special education program in the Spencer district.

The board also elected a new school board president; Sievert was elected president at the October board meeting.

Board member Dave Saboe asked if Brian Schmidt would be willing to step up from his position as vice president into the position as president.

"I would accept if needed," Schmidt said, "but I believe that someone with more experience should be considered."

Board member Curt Lagner nominated former board president Scott Rinehart to serve as president. Rinehart was approved by a roll call vote.

Thank you to Matt Schoning! This next question is directed toward the CC/E School Board, Tony Seivert, and Superintendent McClain - What is the real reason Tony Seivert resigned?? I refer you to Iowa Secretary of State's web page - the old director district maps are shown - Tony lives on East 1st Street in the town of Everly, the map clearly shows that all of Everly is in District #2. The new director map that was on the school's web page shows all of the town of Everly in District #2. He lives on the wrong side of what street??!!?? Who is trying to pull the wool over the patrons' eyes??!!?? Refer to http://sos.iowa.gov/elections/maps/schdi...

Concernedforcce, The maps do show that Tony's side of the street is out of District 2. You better look at the map again. District 1 is all in pink. District 2 is in light green. Look for the pink between Wilson Street and First Street.

No big conspiracy here.

I stand corrected. Thanks.
