Emergency personnel remove an individual from a vehicle following a four-car accident shortly before 3 p.m. at the Fostoria turnoff on U.S. Highway 71. The individual complained of chest pain and was transported to Spencer Hospital by ambulance. Another driver was assessed by medical personnel at the scene but was not transported to the hospital. A four-car pileup occurred when three vehicles failed to stop for a northbound vehicle turning left onto 280th Street. Those three drivers were cited for failure to stop within assured clear distance. The Clay County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Fostoria Fire and Rescue and Spencer Fire Department.
