Spencer falls to 13-14 on the year and 2-2 in the Lakes with three conference matches remaining, including tonight's (Thursday) at Emmetsburg.
In the first set, Western opened with an ace and never looked back, building a 16-3 lead. The Tigers scrapped together 10 points in the first game, while Western Christian tallied 10 kills, three blocks and two aces to open a 1-0 lead.
Spencer started with a 2-0 lead and were tied at 3-3 before Western began separating. The closest the Tigers would get was following back-to-back aces by Kari Miller to make in 12-7, Western.
The third set was all Wolfpack as they lead 18-4 before the Tigers put together a 4-point rally. Western's Brooke Wolterstorff closed out the match with three aces in the last seven points.
Spencer got three kills from Sydney VanWettering, Kirstin Martindale, and Taylor Anderson. Kari Miller had two kills, three assists, two blocks and two aces. Taylor Glover added two kills and five total blocks. Spencer totaled 14 kills in the match against 11 attack errors and recorded just four digs.
