Iowa Lakes got two wins from Scott Community College on Tuesday in Spencer, with each program getting shutout wins. The Laker women won, 5-0, and the men won, 2-0, in a conference match.
On the women's side, Iowa Lakes dominated the ball and out-shot Scott 23 to 0. Brittney Hansen, Cortnee Sanchez, Brooke Saxton, Salena Ramos and Lizzy Rasmussen all scored goals.
"We are a talented side that is improving each week and hope to continue to do so as the season continues," head coach Ammon Bennett said.
The Laker women are now 8-3 overall and 2-2 in conference. Scott women fall to 1-7-1 and 0-3-1 in conference.
The men's team got goals from Erick Guzman and Peter Funaro as they beat Scott, 2-0. The Lakers are 5-6 overall and 3-3 in conference. Scott has lost all six conference games they've played and are 2-8 overall.
"We didn't play real dynamic and at times made the game harder on ourselves then need be but in the end, a win is a win," Bennett said. "We'll take the positives from it and try to build on it."
Both Laker teams will travel to White Bear Lake and face Century College today (Thursday). The women play at 3 p.m. and the men at 5 p.m.
